Taping North York

Kinesiotaping gives support and stability to your joints and muscles. It maintains flexibility, improves circulation and relieves pain through activation of the neurological and the circulatory systems.

Some of the benefits of kinesiotape include proprioceptive facilitation, muscle facilitation, reduced muscle fatigue, reduced delayed onset muscle soreness, pain inhibition, and enhanced healing such as reduced edema, improvement of lymphatic drainage and blood flow. It can be used for preventative maintenance and to improve the patient’s tolerance to exercise and movement.

What Makes It Special?

It is an elastic and non-restrictive adhesive to reduce pain and inflammation and support movement. Athletic tape, on the other hand restricts a muscle and joint movement. In order to achieve this effect, several layers of tape must be applied to the affected area, resulting in more pressure, thereby decreasing circulation and fluid movement. Kinesiotape, on the other hand provides elasticity and proprioception (your body’s knowledge of where it is in space) to allow your body to heal itself.

Kinesiotaping is used for prevention and treatment of many conditions, including:

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Back pain
  • Shin Splints
  • Ankle sprains
  • Runners knee
  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • Injury support and prevention
